YEREVAN. – Armenian minister of Transportation and Communication Manuk Vardanyan met with Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Houlin Zhao on Monday. The Minister thanked him for assisting Armenia in the sphere of telecommunications.

A great achievement was the establishment of internet availability center for blind people and people with insufficient vision initiated by several institutions, including ITU, Ministry’s spokesperson Susanna Tonoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. It will give those people an opportunity to contact the outer world.

The Minister also touched upon the issues of supporting cyber security and installing proper equipments for videoconferences by ITU.

Deputy Secretary-General of ITU stated that Armenia registered the most dynamic developments and results among CIS states compared to last year. Armenia is ahead of Azerbaijan, China and Thailand.

The sides discussed issues of further development as well.
