TASHKENT. - The United Nations Day is an annual event, which celebrates cultural multiplicity at the Tashkent International School, Uzbekistan. Armenia was also represented for the first time with exhibits dedicated to masterpieces of Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage, The Armenian Reporter informs.
Young volunteers of the Tashkent Armenian cultural centre helped to organize the event. They did their best to fill the gap, which was left by the lack of Armenian diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.
Dozens of participants, their parents, many of them business expatriates and members of the diplomatic community including the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan George Krol were acquainted with the long history of Armenian state. They focused also on the tragic moments in Armenian history which caused to set up the Armenian Diaspora over the world.
Local Armenian "Urartu" traditional ensemble of Folk Dance performed the emotional and popular Khochari dance.
