Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has expressed support for Aliyev's “efforts” to “establish peace” in the South Caucasus in a joint press statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani media reported.

"Expressed support to the President of Azerbaijan for the efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus. This will be a great contribution to the peoples of the region,” Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said.

The Egyptian president also said that at the meeting with the Azerbaijani president, they discussed issues on increasing Egypt's aid to Gaza and the importance of establishing the state of Palestine within the 1967 borders.
