YEREVAN. - Upon the decision of Armenian Government a group of citizens received deferment from compulsory military service by 2012.

These are clergymen of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Students of Saint Hakobyants and students of Philanthropic Academy of Kolkata, 23 people in total.

19-year-old boxer Armen Mamikonyan, who only recently received Armenian citizenship and is a member of Armenian boxing national team, is freed from service till 2013.

Another athlete Hayk Ghazaryan was granted deferment till 2013 under similar decision. Ghazaryan is allegedly a member of U-19 football national team, however, we did not find his name on the official web-site of Football Federation of Armenia.
