The New Popular Front (NFP) coalition of leftist parties have won the second round of parliamentary elections in France Sunday and received 182 seats in the National Assembly (NA), according to the official data of the Ministry of the Interior of the country, French media report.

President Emmanuel Macron’s centrist Ensemble (Together) alliance came in second (168 seats), and in third place was the far right National Rally (RN) party Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella, which received 143 seats.

The voter turnout was 66.63 percent.

But no political force managed to get a majority in the parliament. The French NA has 577 seats, and 289 seats are needed for a majority.
