Azerbaijan exported 12.7 billion cubic meters of gas in the first six months of 2024, with slightly more than half of the total volume (6.4 billion cubic meters) it sent to the European market. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic.

According to its information, gas exports from Azerbaijan from January to June amounted to 12.7 billion cubic meters, such figure by 6% exceeds the volume of exports of this energy carrier for the corresponding period of 2023. "Of this volume, 6.4 billion cubic meters (51% of all exports) was supplied to Europe, 5 billion cubic meters (39%) - to Turkey, 1.3 billion cubic meters (10%) - to Georgia," the ministry said.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Energy, Azerbaijan supplied 5.7 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe in the first half of 2023.

The Ministry noted that gas production in Azerbaijan from January to June 2024 amounted to 25.1 billion cubic meters, which is 4.3% or 1 billion cubic meters more than in the corresponding period last year.

Azerbaijan exported 23.8 bcm of gas in 2023, almost half of this volume (11.8 bcm) went to the European market. The projected export volume for 2024, according to the Ministry of Energy, is 24 bcm.

On December 31, 2020 Azerbaijan started commercial gas supplies to Europe via the Trans Adriatic pipeline, which is part of the Southern Gas Corridor. The buyers of Azerbaijani gas in Europe are Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Romania, Greece, Italy and Serbia.
