Golos co-chairman Grigory Melkonyants was finally charged with organizing the work of an "undesirable" organization (part 3 of Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code). This is reported by RusNews.

The charge says that "the activities of the All-Russian public movement for the protection of voters' rights "Golos" headed by him are directed against the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation" and claims that "Golos" was part of "the structure of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations ENEMO", recognized as "undesirable" in Russia. The movement itself denies any connection with ENEMO and says that the names of the organizations coincided by chance. Melkonyants does not agree with the charges. 

The case against the public activist was initiated last August. Melkonyants and other members of the movement were searched in several regions of Russia. After interrogation, he was sent to the temporary detention center, where he was kept until the trial on the measure of restraint. On July 12, the activist's detention was extended once again - until August 17.
