Elon Musk has refuted reports by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), according to which the billionaire intends to give about $45 million a month to former US President Donald Trump's new political committee supporting his presidential campaign.
"I never said I was donating $45M/month to Trump," Musk said in an interview posted on X—formerly Twitter.
Musk stated that he only set up a committee whose purpose is to support candidates who protect democracy and human personal freedom.
The WSJ previously reported that the America political action committee (PAC), formed in June, aims to register voters, persuade them to vote early, and demand mail-in ballots in swing states ahead of the US presidential election in November. It is noted that the aforesaid committee has hired hundreds of people to carry out this work.
