YEREVAN.- Citizens of Russia residing in the territory of Georgia and Armenia will be able to participates in the parliamentary elections in Armenia’s polling stations, Russia’s Ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko told journalists on Thursday.

Elections to Russia’s State Duma, lower house of the parliament, are scheduled for this Sunday.

According to the diplomat, Russia has no official representation in Georgia, and Russian citizens residing there are deprived of an opportunity to vote at the spot so they will be able to vote in Armenia.

He stressed that special buses would carry Russian citizens either to Yerevan or Gyumri where they will participate in the election. However, transportation of the Russian citizens from Georgia will not be organized.

The Ambassador said about 7,000 citizens will participate in the election in Armenia.
