World Boxing champion Vic Darchinyan is planning to jump from the boxing ring into the mixed martial arts cage. Vic Darchinyan himself announced that during his press conference which took place on the eve of his bantamweight match against WBA Anslemo Moreno in California, The Australian informs.

According to Darchinyan’s promoter Gary Shaw if the world IBO champion of the flyweight and superflyweight categories Darchinyan were to win against Moreno and hold the WBC title as well, he will finish his career in professional boxing and will head for MMA full time.

Darchinyan himself informed after the press conference that even if he is going to try himself in MMA he is not planning to quit boxing and will fight in both sports.

“I will participate in MMA next year 100 percent. Physically I’m very strong and I want to prove how strong I can be in MMA,” Darchinyan said.

Concerning tomorrow’s match against Moreno Darchinyan promised to ‘destroy him and knock him out’.

As the paper informs 35-year-old Vic Darchinyan is known for his ‘killer instincts and powerful blows due to which he ended 27 of his 37 victories with knock outs’. MMA include boxing, wrestling, karate, judo, muay Thai and Brazilian jiujitsu.
