YEREVAN. - Armenia’s police chief Lieutenant-General Vladimir Gasparyan received U.S. Ambassador John Heffern on Friday and presented him the reforms in the police system.

The police chief stressed that the success of the reforms depend on the changes of the policemen: people must change first.

Vladimir Gasparyan mentioned that the American police model is a serious one and with some localization it is possible to implement it in Armenia as well.

After the meeting the U.S. Ambassador on behalf of the Embassy donated $150 thousand worth office and computer equipment to the police.

Every year the U.S. Government donates about $3 million to law enforcement and investigation spheres.
