YEREVAN. – Spokesperson of Prosperous Armenia Party leader does not know whether the party leader Gagik Tsarukyan has met with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. Tsarukyan’s spokesperson Khachik Galstyan added that various reports may circulate in the media. However, he is not aware if the meeting indeed took place.

The same answer gave the party spokesperson Baghdasar Mheryan.

In response to the question, whether it is possible that party spokesperson is not aware on his boss possible meeting with the President, Mheryan said that he “does know much, which does not necessarily means to inform.”

According to media, party leader Tsarukyan on returning from Dubai on Friday met with the President.

 “It is possible that the recent arrests of the party members were discussed. As we know, Prosperous Armenia will vote for the tax package and will approve nominations of Samvel Nikoyan and Edward Sharmazanov for the offices of Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively,” Hraparak newspaper reports.

The meeting with the President was rather tense, Haykakan Zhamanak reports. Tsarukyan asked clarifications for the arrests. Sargsyan responded that it is of legal field. Tsarukyan in response said that they are going to stand for the upcoming parliamentary elections independently. Moreover, Prosperous Armenia party intends to discuss the rally of off parliamentary opposition Armenian National Congress, which took place on November 25, the newspaper concludes.
