A record number of guns was sold in the U.S. during the “Black Friday” on November 25, the deputy assistant director of FBI Jerome Pender informed.

He informed that on “Black Friday” the FBI received a large number of inquiries for purchasing guns. The previous record of 2008 was broken by 32 percent increase. Around 130 thousand Americans went to gun shops on November 25.

Pender thinks that the number of guns acquired on that day might be higher, because having the needed authorization documents U.S. citizen can buy more than one gun.

Currently 60-65 million U.S. citizens own around 230 million firearms, ITAR-TASS informs.
