A passenger train has derailed in northern Norway on Thursday, police and railway operator SJ informs.

"According to preliminary information, none of the 90 passengers on the train were seriously injured," adds SJ's statement.

According to the police statement, the locomotive and five train cars derailed.

The Norwegian daily newspaper VG publicized photos of the locomotive lying on its side after the derailment, which, according to the newspaper, were taken by people at the scene.
