Armenia has received Azerbaijan's invitation to participate in the COP29 conference; it was received in the name of the Armenian foreign minister, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan has informed Factor.am.

According to him, the matter of Armenia's participation in the COP29 climate conference—which will be held in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku next month—is currently being discussed by the Armenian government.

"This matter is being discussed in several aspects—both for the establishment of peace, the solution of humanitarian issues, and due to the agenda of the event. You know that it is the most prestigious international event aimed at climate change. Taking into account all those circumstances I noted, in the near future we will make a decision on at what level Armenia will be represented," said the Armenian deputy FM.

And when asked whether Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan himself could attend COP29, Paruyr Hovhannisyan responded that they do not rule out any option, but everything depends on the developments in the coming weeks.
