We have a dynamic dialogue with Turkey. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this during Thursday’s debates on the 2025 state budget draft at the joint meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly of Armenia.

"You remember that the experts of the two countries worked on assessing the condition of the infrastructures of the checkpoint on the [Armenian-Turkish] border. Now those efforts will be directed towards the assessment of the infrastructures related to the Kars-Gyumri [border] crossing.

Our dialogue [with Turkey] is first about [the fact] that the two countries should establish diplomatic relations, [re]open [their] borders, have transport and other communications, and normalize their relations in general", said the Armenian FM.

Commenting on the fact that Turkey somewhat links this process to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Mirzoyan said: "In our assessment, this is not a very constructive approach. We have the dialogue with Turkey without preconditions, we have specific agreements—at first, about partially [re]opening the border, etc. Here again I want to express optimism that we will have progress here in the near future."

The FM added that the number one foreign policy priority of the Armenian government is to ensure the stability of peace around Armenia and development with its neighbors.
