France's foreign ministry spokesperson Christophe Lemoine said Thursday that the French reaction to the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be "in line with ICC statutes," but declined to say whether France would arrest the leader if he came to the country, Reuters reports. 

"It's a point that is legally complex," he said

Earlier, Netherlands Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp was cited by Dutch news agency ANP as saying the country was prepared to act on the arrest warrant against Netanyahu if needed.

As reported earlier, the ICC has issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the country’s former defense minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes relating to the Gaza war.

The court announced that it had unanimously decided to reject Israel's appeal of the ICC's jurisdiction.

The ICC added that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Netanyahu and Gallant are criminally responsible for the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare.

Also, the ICC noted that there are reasonable grounds to believe that they deliberately and knowingly deprived the people of Gaza of food, water, medicine, medical supplies, fuel, and electricity.
