Turkey's special services have detained 54 people on suspicion of having ties with the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, informed the Turkish Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya.

"54 people were detained as part of operations against the IS terrorist group, which were carried out in 18 provinces," the minister wrote on X.

He noted that the detainees are suspected of joining IS, helping and hiding militants of this terrorist organization, as well as promoting it on social media.

The prosecutor's office has opened criminal cases.

Twenty people were arrested by the court's decision.
