Iran has reported a terrorist attack on its consulate in the city of Aleppo in Syria, Mehr reports.

“Iran's Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack by terrorist groups on the building of its consulate in Syria's Aleppo,” the media report said.

According to the latest data, most of the city was seized by pro-Turkish terrorists.

Earlier, it became known that pro-Turkish Islamist groups, fighting with the government troops of Bashar al-Assad, went on an unexpected offensive in northwestern Syria.

The Islamists are led by the radical group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which broke away from al-Qaeda in 2017.
