In Georgian social networks, participants of pro-European protests report receiving threatening phone calls from unknown persons, Echo Kavkaza reported.

Ilya Glonti, one of the co-founders of the “Daitove” community, which coordinates protesters in Tbilisi, reported receiving threatening phone calls over the past few days. Unknown persons told him that they would “bring him home with broken bones.”

Vano Gomurashvili, a member of the opposition Coalition for Change, also reported about the threats in his commentary to Radio Liberty. During the call, he was asked where he was, started insulting, and promised to find him and beat him up.

The numerous calls from unknown numbers were reported by Eke Kvesitadze, journalist of the opposition TV channel “Mtavari”, she said that she decided not to receive them.

It is not known how widespread the phenomenon is among people who are not well-known activists or journalists.
