Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has eliminated a group of foreign-backed saboteurs in Qazvin province near the capital Tehran, Mehr reports.

“A network linked to enemy and counter-revolutionary groups that tried to set up teams inside the country to carry out sabotage acts to undermine national security was identified and eliminated in Qazvin,” the public relations department of the IRGC's Qazvin base said in a statement. ”This anti-national security network, which tried to spread false news against the government, was linked to monarchist groups and operated in several provinces of the country. Once it was identified, it was placed under 24-hour surveillance by the intelligence services. After receiving a court order, the members of this counter-revolutionary network were arrested and handed over to the judicial authorities.”
