Gagik Baghunts, acting Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, expresses his gratitude to the Swiss National Council.

On behalf of the National Assembly of Artsakh, I extend my sincere gratitude to the Swiss National Council, the author of the resolution, Deputy Erich Vontobel, and all political forces in the Parliament for the support for the rights of the people of Artsakh.

The resolution adopted by the lower house of Parliament calling for an international peace forum is a significant step towards addressing the rights of the forcibly displaced people of Artsakh, particularly the right to the safe and dignified return.

We commend Switzerland’s commitment to international law and justice and express hope that this process will have its logical continuation. By advocating for the implementation of the International Court of Justice’s ruling, the Swiss Federal Council has demonstrated a clear understanding of the urgency of our cause.

We urge the international community to join Switzerland in its efforts to create an international platform to address the rights of the people of Artsakh. We believe that through concerted international efforts, we can achieve a just and lasting peace in the region.
