Lebanese Army Commander Gen. Joseph Aoun received Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon Murat Lütem, accompanied by Turkish military attaché Lt. Col. Erdinc Durmaz, at his office in Yarz on Tuesday, Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported.

During the conversation, they reportedly discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the region.

The army chief also received Italian army commander Gen. Luciano Portolano.

They discussed strengthening cooperative relations between the armies of both countries, as well as coordination between the Lebanese army and the UN Interim Force in Lebanon - UNIFIL.
