Only the West talks about the scenarios that consider nuclear war possible, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a program on Russia-1 television.
"We [i.e. Russia] have never started a debate about what to do with nuclear weapons and whether they can be used. On the contrary, at the initiative of Russia in early 2021, first at the level of [Russian and US presidents] Putin and Biden, and then at the level of the permanent members of the ‘five’ nuclear states, the [UN] Security Council permanent members, the ‘Gorbachev-Reagan Resolution’ was reproduced that there can be no winners in a nuclear war, so it should never be unleashed. And it was Russia's initiative," Lavrov said.
"In all other initiatives, in which nuclear war is considered possible, such expressions were heard exclusively from the Western capitals," added the Russian FM.
