The representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia have not been invited to the inauguration of President Mikheil Kavelashvili, parliament speaker Shalva Papuashvili announced during a press conference, reports SOVA.
"The ambassadors [to Georgia] have not been invited. It was not even planned to invite foreign representatives to this inauguration. The main thing is that this is an official ceremony in which the presence of the members of the Electoral College is important, as well as the full representation of the constitutional bodies," Papuashvili said.
To note, Mikheil Kavelashvili is not recognized as president by incumbent Salome Zourabichvili and the Georgian opposition.
