Russian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Sergei Davrov and Ceyhun Bayramov on December 28 during a telephone conversation discussed the development of events related to the crash of a passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines on December 25 near the Kazakh city of Aktau, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.

It is emphasized that the conversation took place in continuation of the communication between the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan on the issue.

“Having confirmed the agreements of the presidents on the need to ensure the most thorough investigation of this tragic incident, the ministers expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The need to establish all causes of the incident and to take urgent measures to prevent similar situations in the future and to finally and fully resolve the incident, taking into account all circumstances, was emphasized.

The sides also exchanged views on the upcoming Russian-Azerbaijani contacts at the highest and high levels,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
