Armenian foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan disclosed the details of his New Year's phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.
At his press conference held Wednesday, answering the question regarding the details of his phone conversation with the Turkish FM, Mirzoyan noted that the two parties had exchanged congratulations and wishes, and discussed the current situation in the world and regional issues.
Speaking about the prospects of establishing diplomatic relations and reopening the border with Turkey, the Armenian FM noted that the Turkish side links this matter with the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. In this regard, Mirzoyan expressed his conviction that the normalization of Armenia’s relations with Turkey will facilitate the similar process with Azerbaijan. But the dialogue should continue both at the level of foreign ministers and special representatives of Armenia and Turkey.
