Wildfires have been raging across Los Angeles County, California for the eighth day already. The country authorities have warned local residents of the possibility of stronger winds, which will complicate the fight against the spread of these fires.

Fires in three neighborhoods of Los Angeles have not yet been put out, authorities report. They note that the fires in Eaton and Pacific Palisades continue to threaten thousands of homes in multiple directions—and with possible strong winds.

And the US National Weather Service said a "red flag" warning would be in effect for the region from Monday night into Wednesday due to strong winds and low humidity.

The sustained winds expected especially on Tuesday can reach a speed of 70 to 110 kilometers per hour.

It is said that the four wildfires that broke out in and around Los Angeles have turned into ash a total area of more than 160 square kilometers, which is an area larger than the city of San Francisco.
