The signing of the strategic partnership charter between Armenia and the United States is an important event, Armenian defense minister Suren Papikyan told a press conference Wednesday.

According to him, Armenian-American relations have reached a corresponding level.

Papikyan added that in fact, the nature of cooperation between the Armenian and US defense administrations does not change, as it has already been established, will continue within the same framework, and fully fits within the framework of the new document.

"We have gone further in a number of domains. Trainings, consultations, reforms of the sergeant training system are being conducted," Papikyan noted.

Also, the defense minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and dynamics of Armenia’s collaboration with the US, and expressed hope that it will deepen even more.
