ISTANBUL. – The religious leaders of Turkey’s national minorities met, at the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople on Thursday, to discuss the country’s new Constitution.

The participants discussed the state’s guaranteeing of the freedom of religion and conscience, within the citizenship concept, in Turkey’s new Constitution.  

The attendees decided that the report, which will be prepared after four such meetings, be taken to the Turkish parliament and to discuss it with members of the country’s Constitutional Commission, Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.         

The next meeting will be held at the Greek Patriarchate of Constantinople.
