The Armenia-Turkey normalization process is not at a deadlock. Ruben Rubinyan, deputy speaker of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) and Armenia’s special representative for the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, told this to reporters Thursday.

"But at the same time, it is a fact that we are not seeing much progress, and it is not our [i.e. Armenia’s] fault because Armenia has done everything on its part so that that the normalization takes place. Armenia is ready to have open borders with Turkey tomorrow, to have diplomatic relations tomorrow, and Armenia has no preconditions for that. If Turkey has the political will, it will happen," Rubinyan added.

When asked what obstacle there is that the Margara Bridge on the Armenian-Turkish border is not opening, the Armenia NA deputy speaker replied: "There are no obstacles on our side, and I don't think there is any reason on Turkey's side not to open not only the Margara Bridge within the framework of the agreement, but also not to open the border in general. We [i.e.] believe that if Turkey shows political will, Armenia-Turkey relations will be normalized very quickly. I last met with Serdar Kilic [i.e. Turkey’s special representative for the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations] in the summer, but we are constantly in touch by phone."
