US President Donald Trump has said he doesn't want to impose sanctions on Russia.

If Russia doesn’t reach an agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine, he is going to put huge tariffs on Russia, Trump said in an interview with Fox News.

The US president noted that if Russia doesn’t resolve this war soon, almost immediately, he is going to put huge tariffs, huge taxes, and huge sanctions on Russia.

But he doesn’t want to do that, he loves the Russian people, and they're wonderful people, added Trump.

Also, he again expressed his wish for the conflict in Ukraine to end immediately, but did not offer specific options for a settlement.
