One person was killed and others were injured when a private plane belonging to rock band Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil collided with another plane Monday afternoon at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, the Associated Press reported, citing local authorities.

Neil's plane was coming in for a landing at the airport when it veered off the runway and collided with another plane on the ground, Neil's spokesman said in a statement. Neil's plane was carrying two pilots and two passengers, but Neil himself was not among them.

The arriving plane traveled off the runway and collided with a Gulfstream 200 aircraft that was parked on private property, according to Scottsdale Airport's aviation planning and operations coordinator Kelly Kuester.

It appeared that the arriving plane had a left main landing gear strut failure, which caused the collision.

According to Kuester, four people were in the arriving plane, which came from Austin Texas, and one person was in the parked plane.

Two people injured in the collision were taken to trauma centers and one is in stable condition at a hospital, said Capt. Dave Folio of the Scottsdale Fire Department. He said work is underway to locate the body of the person killed in the collision.

The runway was closed and will remain closed “for the foreseeable future.”
