Elon Musk has mocked the Associated Press (AP) after it was revealed that it received more than $52 million from the US budget.

“Associated Propaganda,” Musk wrote on X, commenting on a post by journalist Chadwick Moore.

Moore had previously published data showing that the AP received funding from various US government agencies, including the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM)—$37.27 million, the State Department—$8.49 million, and the Pentagon—$4.37 million.

Musk, who has taken over as head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), had previously accused The New York Times of attacking the freedom of speech guaranteed by the First Amendment to the US Constitution.

Musk has slammed Reuters also, calling it the worst traditional media outlet in the world.
