Russia and the US have begun talks in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, RIA Novosti reports.

The talks are taking place at the Albasateen complex in Diriyah, one of the palaces of the Saudi royal family.

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov had arrived in Riyadh Monday to hold talks with the American delegation. Ushakov said that Kirill Dmitriev,  the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, could join the Russian delegation to discuss economic matters during the aforesaid talks.
