The talks between the US and Russian delegations have ended in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, reports the BBC correspondent accompanying the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.

The reporters were informed that the meeting between the Russian and American delegations has concluded.

Including the working lunch, it lasted more than three hours.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said in his first comments to Russian media that the talks “did not go badly.”

“We agreed to take into account each other’s interests and, at the same time, develop bilateral relations, since both Moscow and Washington are interested in this,” Ushakov said, reports RIA Novosti.

In turn, Kirill Dmitriev,  the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, stated the start of a “very positive, constructive dialogue,” and said that now the US and Russia “understand each other much better.”

“Unlike during the [preceding US President Joe] Biden administration, which never tried to listen to Russia’s position, now there have been clear efforts to start a dialogue, to understand Russia’s position, and to discuss matters on which we agree,” Dmitriev said.
