Volkswagen has expanded the range of engines for its Tiguan, Passat and new Tayron, adding to each of them a powerful 2.0 TSI turbocharged gasoline four-cylinder engine paired with 4Motion all-wheel drive, reports Motor.ru.

On these crossovers, the engine produces 204 or 265 horsepower, while in the second case the engine is identical to the Golf GTI—but only the torque of the heavier cars is increased from 370 to 400 Nm.

The Passat does not have a junior unit, and the senior one, like in other models, is available only in the R-Line version.

With 204 horsepower, the Tayron/Tiguan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h. Average fuel consumption according to WLTP is 7.5–8.3 liters per 100 kilometers. With a more powerful engine, the dynamics will improve significantly: for the Tiguan—5.9 seconds and 242 kilometers, and for the Tayron—6.3 seconds and 240 kilometers per hour. But the Passat 2.0 TSI 4Motion station wagon will be even faster—from 5.8 seconds to 100 km/h, and its top speed will 250 km/h.

In addition, these all-wheel drive cars can tow trailers weighing from 2.2 to 2.5 tons. They even have a special Trailer driving mode, which is automatically activated and changes the traction between the axles Algorithm for distributing.

Prices for the Tiguan 2.0 TSI 4Motion start at 48,175 euros, while for the Tayron—at 50,770 euros.
