US President Donald Trump has extended a number of sanctions previously imposed on Russia for one year, according to documents published by the White House.

According to the White House's explanation, the term of the anti-Russian restrictions has been extended due to the situation in Ukraine.

This decision, in particular, refers to the sanctions imposed from 2014 to 2022 by US Presidents Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Trump himself during his first presidential term 

According to a statement by US President Donald Trump, the sanctions will be extended beyond March 6, 2025.

Earlier, the US President during the first meeting of his cabinet ruled out the possibility of lifting sanctions on Russia before the conclusion of a peace deal to end the war in Ukraine.
