In the context of the Baku “trial,” we have clearly stated that there is information that prohibited means are being used, torture is being used. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during the Armenian parliament’s question and answer session with the government on Wednesday—and regarding the “trial” of the Armenians being held captive in Azerbaijan.

"The MFA of Armenia has given a clear assessment, and we will continue our efforts to resolve this issue. Our diplomacy is doing everything possible, being guided first and foremost by the principle of ‘don’t harm.’ Our assessment is very clear: physical and psychological pressure, other prohibited means are being used [against the Armenian captives in Azerbaijan]. This is unacceptable for us," Pashinyan noted.

 In his view, if these scenes in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku are used to exert psychological influence on the Armenian society—and Azerbaijan succeeds in this, it means that Baku is fulfilling its task.

"It turns out that we [i.e. Armenia] should also perceive this issue from this perspective," the Armenian PM emphasized.
