Syria's coastal areas and Latakia Mountains have witnessed painful events and sectarian killing operations that killed 340 citizens, including women and children.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), people were killed in a way of collective revenge.

Based on the figures cited and warnings of the risk of escalating violence against civilians in Syria, SOHR calls on the international community to take urgent action and dispatch specialized international investigative teams to document grave violations.

The Observatory is also sending an urgent appeal to the Syrian authorities in Damascus to hold accountable security officials involved in carrying out field executions.

The organization noted that impunity encourages the repetition of crimes in the future, which threatens political and social stability in Syria.
