Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said that “the insistence of some tyrant states on negotiations will not solve the problem but will lead to the imposition of their will.”
He said that “Western principles contradict Islamic principles,” adding that “double standards in the West are a real shame for this civilization,” Mehr reported.
“We cannot follow the principles of Western civilization in political, economic and other issues.
The insistence of some tyrant states to hold talks is not to solve problems but to dominate and impose their own expectations. Iran will definitely not accept their demands,” Khamenei noted, referring to the US and Western countries' call for talks on Iran's defense issues.
He denied European claims that Iran has failed to fulfill its obligations under the nuclear deal.
