Oil tanker and cargo vessel collide in North Sea, 32 casualties brought ashore

An oil tanker and a cargo vessel collided in the North Sea off the East Yorkshire coast, with reports both vessels are on fire, BBC reports.

HM Coastguard said the incident happened near the Humber Estuary and the alarm was raised at 09:48 GMT on Monday, with a number of lifeboats and a Coastguard helicopter sent to the scene.

So far, 32 casualties have been brought ashore, but some crew members were yet to be accounted for, according to Martyn Boyers, chief executive of the Port of Grimsby East.

The vessels involved in the collision are the US-flagged Stena Immaculate tanker and the Solong, a Portuguese-flagged container ship, according to data from the ship-tracking website MarineTraffic.
