US President Donald Trump's team does not want to hear anything about Ukraine returning to its 2014 or even to its 2022 borders, Sky News reports.

According to Sky News correspondent Alex Rossi, US officials are making such statements "privately."

"It looks like the Ukrainians are going to have to make some fairly painful concessions, but the hope is when these talks finish, we will see and understand what the shape of a ceasefire," Rossi said.

In the talks that began this afternoon in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the Americans want to see what concessions Ukraine is ready to make in order to achieve peace.
