Russian oil supplies to Hungary were interrupted Tuesday after Ukraine launched a massive drone strike against Moscow, just months after Budapest struck a lucrative deal with Kiev that allows it to continue buying fuel, Politico writes.

In a video message posted online, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that “oil deliveries through the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary have been temporarily suspended” following the drone attack.

“I just spoke to the Russian deputy energy minister who said that due to the drone hitting a measuring station, deliveries are not possible at the moment, but repair work is ongoing and, unless something extraordinary happens, oil deliveries to Hungary may resume closer to evening,“ he said.” he said.

Szijjártó urged Ukraine “not to attack the energy infrastructure directed to Hungary.”
