Igor Krasnovsky, grandson of weapons designer Mikhail Kalashnikov, accused of murdering Andrei Sidorik, a famous basketball player and RSFSR champion, has been remanded in custody until April 14, RIA Novosti reports.

“Oktyabrsky district court of Izhevsk considered the investigator's petition to extend the measure of restraint in the form of remand in custody against a previously convicted 52-year-old local resident accused of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The investigative authorities accuse Krasnovsky I.V. of the murder of the famous basketball player Andrei Sidorik - the champion of the RSFSR, a member of the Russian junior national basketball team, master of sports in basketball” - reports the United Press Service of the courts of Udmurtia.

The press service said that Krasnovsky, on the night of January 14, during the conflict that arose after the joint consumption of alcoholic beverages, inflicted the victim with multiple stab wounds, as a result of which the latter died a short time later.
