The Dutch foreign minister has announced the European Union’s (EU) readiness to convey to Azerbaijan its position on the matter of captured Armenians.
At a joint press conference in Yerevan Wednesday—and answering a question about the shameful “trial” of the former leadership of the now Azerbaijani-occupied Nagorno-Karabakh in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, Caspar Veldkamp stressed that the rights of captured Armenians must be protected in accordance with international standards.
The Netherlands and the EU will contribute to this matter, it is at the focus of Brussels' attention, the Netherlands and the EU will continue to closely monitor the matter, the rights to a free and fair trial must be respected, and they will convey this to Azerbaijan, added the Dutch FM.
