Some territories belonging to Armenia are now under the control of Azerbaijani forces, including Jermuk city, but there are some territories belonging to Azerbaijan that are still under the control of Armenian forces. This was stated by foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan in the National Assembly of Armenia Friday—and during the debates on the implementation of the government's 2024 program.

“And the whole point of the border delimitation [between Armenia and Azerbaijan] is to determine that line, place the [border] markers, and distribute the forces accordingly. The territories that belong to Armenia and are now under Azerbaijani control, including the area adjacent to Jermuk. We are confident that the border delimitation process is the way we need to resolve that issue.

The border delimitation process and the documents adopted so far, the approaches, norms enshrined in them, and the process that has taken place so far give complete hope, fully create the appropriate mechanisms for these issues—including the issue of the area adjacent to Jermuk—to be resolved in that context,” the Armenian FM said.
