The talks between the presidents of the countries became not just a critically important event, but also the longest telephone conversation held between the leaders of the Russian and American state. The previous record, during which Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump talked for an hour and a half, was set on February 12, 2025.

The longest conversation between the Russian leader and former US President Joe Biden on December 31, 2021 was 50 minutes, and the phone conversation with former US head Barack Obama on March 12, 2012 was 20 minutes. At the same time, the duration of Putin's telephone contacts with the 43rd US President George W. Bush was not recorded.
