Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message to Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, reports RIA Novosti.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message to the head of the Syrian state, Ahmed al-Sharaa, in which he supported efforts aimed at quickly stabilizing the situation in Syria—in the interests of ensuring the country's sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity," noted the Kremlin spox.

Peskov added that Putin confirmed his readiness to develop cooperation between the two countries.

"Russia's continued readiness to develop practical cooperation with the Syrian leadership across the entire range of matters on the bilateral agenda, in order to strengthen traditionally friendly Russian-Syrian relations, was confirmed," Peskov said.
