Elon Musk has called the attacks on the facilities of the automaker he heads, Tesla, acts of terrorism.

“There is no doubt that shooting bullets into Tesla stores and burning down Superchargers are acts of terrorism,” he wrote in X.

He has previously said he believes vandalism of Tesla cars and dealerships is a manifestation of mental illness.

On March 9, NBC News reported that Tesla facilities have faced a “wave of attacks” since Musk took over as head of the U.S. government's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). According to the TV station, there have been 10 acts of vandalism against the company's cars, dealerships and charging stations in a matter of weeks. U.S. President Donald Trump said that he considers attackers who commit such sabotage as terrorists.
